Customized Services
The program I design for you will combine elements of the following areas:
Personal Training
I work with clients ages 14 to 90! The process starts with a consultation where we meet to discuss your goals, medical and exercise history, followed by assessments and functional screens as needed. While this may seem like a lot of preliminary steps, it is essential to designing the right program for YOU. Careful, safe progression of the initial program, along with variety, is also important in keeping my clients free from injury.
Sessions may be individual, with a partner or in small groups. Together we decide what format suits your needs, preferences and lifestyle.
Nutrition Counseling
I can head you in the right direction towards healthier eating by providing information and references to reliable websites, starting with the Department of Health & Human Services' 2005 Dietary Guidelines and Food Pyramid recommendations. The Guidelilnes are the basis for Federal nutrition education programs and provide advice on improving your health & reducing the risk of major disease through better dietary habits. The recommendations are based on reliable scientific research, rather than "gym science".Are you a competitive athlete? I will share the most recent and advanced nutritional measures for preparing your body for your specific sport or activity. I provide methods for prolonged training, all day tournaments or performances, and recovery techniques from your event.
Eating a nutritious diet and encouraging a healthy lifestyle is part of what I believe in and guide my clients towards.
Sports Performance
Stress Management & Wellness Coaching
The proof for the mind-body connection grows stronger each passing week. Fitness is not just strong muscles and the ability to run or walk long distances. Health includes more than the absence of disease. To be truly fit to do what we desire, we need muscle strength and cardiovascular endurance. We also need a desirable body weight, a flexible supple physique, and balance - in both the physical and time management senses. Last, but not least, we require equanimity, peace of mind in our ability to handle stress & adversity, and the ability to enjoy relationships with others.
